Static QR codes are free and never expire. Dynamic QR codes work while you have an active subscription or free trial. If your plan ends, they're paused: anyone who scans one sees a page saying the code isn't active. Your codes stay in your account, and reactivating your plan turns them back on straight away, with no reprinting.

Static QR codes encode data directly and cannot be changed after creation — they are free forever. Dynamic QR codes use a short redirect URL, so you can update the destination anytime, track scans with analytics, and add custom branding. Dynamic QR codes are available with the Pro plan.

QRCode Creator provides detailed analytics for dynamic QR codes. You can track when and how many times your QR code is scanned, as well as other metrics like location, device, browser, and time of day.

Most scanning problems come from printing. Keep the code at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, use a dark code on a light background with strong contrast, and leave a clear margin around it. Avoid glossy or curved surfaces that reflect light. Always test with your phone camera before printing a batch. Open the dashboard, go to QR Codes, select the code and edit its Destination URL, then save. Every printed copy opens the new link right away. This only works for dynamic codes; a static code's content is fixed once it's created.
